Question 01 : How do I fill JAM 2017 Online Application Form for Admission (or Admission Form)?
Answer :
Go to the JOAPS login available at JAM 2017 Information website JOAPS Login, and fill the form.

 

Question 02 : How do I pay the JAM 2017 Admission Form fee?
Answer :
You can make the Admission Form fee payment only through online. Payment can be made using credit/ debit/ net banking through payment gateway. Extra charges, depending on the mode of payment, will be added to the admission fee during payment .

 

Question 03 : What should I upload in Xth Class certificate fields?
Answer :
you must upload the Xth Certificate as a single pdf file within file size 4 MB.

 

Question 04 : What should I upload in XIIth Class certificate fields?
Answer :
you must upload the XIIth Marksheet as well as the Certificate as a single pdf file within file size 4 MB.

 

Question 05 : Which Certificate should I upload for Nationality?
Answer :
If you are a General Candidate (and not a foreigner), you have to upload any of the following Certificates for Nationality.

  1. Birth Certificate
  2. Voter Id
  3. First page of Passport
  4. School Transfer Certificate (TC) showing Nationality
  5. Nationality Certificate issued by the authorized government agency.

Some of the documents that are NOT accepted for Nationality are :

Aadhar Card, Ration Card, Bank Passbook, Marksheet, PAN Card, Driving License, School/ College ID etc.

If you are unable to upload the Nationality Certificate at the time of application, please submit the Certificate to the Admitting Institute at the time of admission.

 

Question 06 : How do I add records in 'Qualifying Degree Academic Details & Documents' section?
Answer :
You should add subject papers of a semester, one by one (i.e. one paper at a time), in the pop up window appearing on clicking the 'Add records' button. Similarly, you repeat the same with other semesters/years. If your programme is not semester wise then select 'NA' in semester field and add all the papers year wise.

 

Question 07 : For each semester do I have to add separately the marks obtained for each paper?
Answer :
Yes.

 

Question 08 : What should I upload in the Qualifying Degree certificate field?
Answer :
The documents must be uploaded year-wise only. If there are two semesters in a year, then the documents of the two semesters have to be uploaded together as a single .pdf file not exceeding the size 2 MB. In this section, you must upload Marksheets and Degree/Provisional Certificate (if applicable).

 

Question 09 : In the 'Qualifying Degree Academic Details & Documents' section should I have to add all the papers including honors, subsidiaries?
Answer :
Yes, You have to add all the papers including honors, languages and subsidiaries etc.

 

Question 10 : How many preferences can I add?
Answer :
You can add as many number of preferences as possible based on your qualified JAM Test Paper(s). But you must ensure ERs and MEQs requirements of a particular programme of an Institute before adding it as one of your programme choices.

Note : If you don't fulfill the ER & MEQ requirements of a particular programme, you will not be eligible to join the programme though you could choose the programme as one of the choices

 

Question 11 : Do I need to send any hard copy of the document ?.
Answer :
NO, Please do not send any hard/ printed copy of the documents.

 

Question 12 : I have only CGPA in XII mentioned in the marksheet. What should I enter in aggregate marks field?
Answer :
You enter the CGPA in the aggregate marks field.

 

Question 13 : When and how do I know whether I have been offered a programme?
Answer :
First set of offers are likely to be made by May 29,2017 (Monday). Information will be sent by Email/SMS and will be displayed on the online portal. Second and subsequent offers may be made depending on the availability of the seats.

 

Question 14 : What are the options available when I receive an offer of admission?

Answer : After an offer of admission is made, the candidates have three options in the Online Application Portal :

A. Accept and Freeze :

  1. Choose this option if you want to accept the present offer but do not want to upgrade to your higher options (if any) in further rounds (if any).
  2. Once you have chosen this, OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number and you have to enter the OTP to confirm.
  3. Once you confirm with OTP, you would be able to download the Offer Documents and Response to the Offer form.
  4. After downloading, please go to payment page and pay the Seat Booking Fee of Rs. 10,000/- for General/ OBC(NCL)/ Foreign National applicants and Rs. 5,000/- for SC/ ST/ PwD applicants. Depending on the mode of payment, additional charges may apply. There is No E-challan mode of payment.
  5. Fill the Response to the Offer form and send the scanned copy by email to chrjam@admin.iitd.ac.in and hard copy by post to the Organizing Chairman, JAM 2017, IIT Delhi, New Delhi-110016. The other Offer Documents should be filled and submitted to Admitting Institute when you report for admission.

B. Accept with Upgrade :

  1. Choose this option if you want to accept the present offer and want to upgrade to your higher options in further rounds (if any).
  2. Once you have chosen this, OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number and you have to enter the OTP to confirm.

C. Reject and Quit :

    By choosing "Reject and Quit", the Applicant rejects the offered seat and would not like to continue in the admission process by JAM 2017. The seat offered to the Applicant would be cancelled and he/she will not be considered further in the JAM 2017 Admission process.

 

Question 15 : Can I withdraw after accepting the offer?
Answer :
A Candidate can withdraw the offer of admission by clicking the 'withdraw' button on JAM 2017 Admission Portal. The Seat Booking fee (paid by the candidates while accepting the offer in the earlier rounds) will be refunded after deducting an amount of Rs. 1000/- as Processing Fee. Please note that the WITHDRAW facility is availabe only during June 16th to June 21st 2017.

 

Question 16 : After declining/rejecting the offer, can I be considered for further offers?
Answer :
NO.
